January Athlete of the Month – Caio Enrico Lima
Caio walked into Upper Limit looking for a program that would enhance his soccer playing ability. Immediately after his first workout with the coaches, he had the biggest beaming smile on his face!
” I loved the workout and I cant wait to get started…where do I sign up?”
The rest is history!
Caio presence has become a staple at the box and its not unusual for him to be there 4-5 times a week. He likes the music loud- its what drives him to push hard and finish the work. He loves to entertain and motivate other athletes at the gym by singing…yes, you read that right-singing! When a song comes on he knows the words to, he sings out loud, karaoke style and his voice is so infectious that others cant help but sing with him! Gotta make the best of those long rows and tough Metcons…what better way to do it than sing your heart out!
Here’s a little more about Caio-
What made you decide to join CrossFit Upper Limit and how long have you been a member?
I have decided join Crossfit Upper Limit because I needed something different than just a regular workout, wanted to try something new, and since first time I got into the box, I felt very welcomed. So I joined after a class, around 6 months ago.
What are your fitness goals?
Break my own records, body change, learn new things every day.
Talk to us about your athletic background. What did you do prior to training at CrossFit Upper Limit?
I have always played football (soccer) my whole life, reached out professionals in Brazil in 2009, and 2011 came to the states to keep playing and to study. So my life has always being inside the football pitch and gyms, which I always loved!
What type of diet do you follow?
Always try to avoid fast-food as max as I can, and meals with more protein than carbs.
Favorite movements in the CrossFit program?
I really like the deadlifts and cleans!
Least favorite? Definitely thrusters!!
Tell us one thing that most people don’t know about you.
That throughout my athlete career I had way to many injuries, including two surgeries, ankles and hips.
How has being a member of CrossFit Upper Limit impacted your life?
It helped get back to the mind-set of when I was younger trying to reach pro level of football. Mind set of breaking records, of winning at any costs, be the best on everything, winning against myself.
